Shoe Displays for the Charlotte International Arts Festival

When designing our cases, they were designed with the idea that a base would be used in congruence with the case. Sometimes though, especially in a world of creativity, it is best to go against the grain; think outside of the box (so to speak) a little. Occasionally, our customers like to do just that.

Recently one of our customers shared how they used our cases to display their work at the Charlotte International Arts Festival. Destiny used just the case, no base, to display custom painted sneakers. You may be asking, why buy a case with no base? Well, let me show you.

She used our A082 Mirror Shoes Display Case and turned it on its side using the mirrored back as the base of the display. This concept was used for four different shoe displays.  It allowed the shoes to sort of "spill" out of the case and of course also gave more space for the shoes.

Here is a little bit of background behind the shoes on display for those who may be curious, as well as corresponding images with the case. The above sneaker/design is a mashup that honors several sports teams located in Charlotte. The teams include the Carolina Panthers (NFL), Charlotte Thunder (AAL), Charlotte Checkers (AHL), Charlotte Sting (WNBA ‘97-’07), and Charlotte Independence (USL League One).

This sneaker design is dedicated to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, located in Uptown Charlotte. The below sneaker is designed after the Charlotte Hornets (NBA).

The last sneaker is designed to honor a community of Charlotte, formerly known as Brooklyn, which was torn down for redevelopment. This community was home to Black schools, businesses, churches, houses, and theaters.

If you thought about displaying shoes and would like to replicate this look with a mirrored base and have all of the sides enclosed here are a few options that we offer.

  • A082 Shoes Display Case with a mirror base and clear platform. The clear platform is held up by a set of risers that we offer in twelve different colors. This allows for the shoe to have an elevated look in the case giving you a better reflection in the mirror base so you can see the shoe from underneath. You have the option of a clear case or mirror if you really want to be able to see the shoes from all angles.

  • A013 Single Shoe Display Case. This case is another option we offer that allows you to just display one shoe. It is also available with the base and case options as mentioned above for the A082.
