Display Cases for Rock & Mineral Specimens

Recently, amateur geologist Samantha E. of Mokena, Illinois shared with us a fascinating specimen of Selenite housed in our A057 versatile display case. Samantha has always been fascinated by the different colors & shapes of rocks and has been actively collecting rocks & minerals as a hobby for the past 4-5 years. "It always blew my mind how these can be dug up." she said.

Selenite is a fibrous sulfate mineral found in the Gypsum family. Many people admire it for its natural beauty, while others assign spiritual significance to it, most notably citing its healing properties. The piece of selenite pictured in the case is semi-unique in that this one is in a light green color and spiked form. It is usually seen in its more popular form; appearing as white or clear and shaped like a blade or tower. Unlike jewelry where they are cut, polished, and sealed, this green selenite pictured is found in its more unrefined natural state.

Samantha also pointed out "The cases help to clearly view, protect and highlight the crystals natural beauty from multiple angles." Better Display Cases has a wide selection of versatile display cases for your rock & mineral specimens. We recommend checking out the Search By Size section on our website to get you started.
