What's new for the New Year (Part 1)?

It's Hot Toys

I was going to start off this first blog with a commentary about how I had already massively bombed on my New Year's resolution(s), but then it occurred to me that we're coming up on the Chinese New Year and that I can just shift to a different New Year to start my resolutions. So, I can instead talk about something else.

That something else is Hot Toys. No, not the hottest toys of the year, but the figurines manufactured by Hot Toys and often sold by Sideshow Collectibles.  They produce articulating 1:6 scale models of various culture icons. A majority of them are Star Wars, Marvel or DC comics related. We have gotten several calls in the last few months from people looking for cases for the figures. Mark T. ordered three of our A017 cases (5.5 x 5.5 x 13.5) to display his figures. The first up is his Luke Skywalker.

Then he has Natasha Romanoff, aka the Black Widow with her classic, and for us long-time comic book fans traditional, red hair.

And Mark is obviously an equal opportunity fan as he also has a Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, from DC Comics. For more pics on this figure go to: https://www.sideshow.com/collectibles/dc-comics-wonder-woman-deluxe-version-hot-toys-903121/

As I said we have been getting calls asking about cases to display these figures over the last few months. The biggest problem when discussing this with customers is that while our A017 case is tall enough, it generally isn't long/wide/deep enough to include the base that comes with the figures. In Mark's case, he has Luke and Wonder Woman in the case without the base. This is obviously an issue as the base is part of the appeal of the figures and often contains accoutrements that you can switch out with the figures. We have cases that are long/wide/deep enough to hold the bases, but then they weren't tall enough to hold the figures.

So, after a little research, we are getting a new case, model number A087, with the dimensions of 10.5" x 10.5" x 14.5" to have available for folks who have Hot Toys and want a way to protect them.

This is an example of how we take customer feedback and develop new products based on it. And I'm sure some of customers will find different and unique things to put in this case that we never thought of and somewhere down the road I'll be writing about them in a blog.

Customer feedback is always how we get our best ideas and has been key to the development of this company from the beginning. So, feel free to contact us with any idea you might have for a new product!
