Geeking on Sports, Comics and Other Things

The Man Cave: Baseball Bobbleheads, Comics, and Monty Python

I had an epiphany the other day. I realized that all guys (and gals) are geeks. We all geek about something, whether it's sports, comic books, movies, or My Little Pony (it took me a while to learn what a Brony was).

Personally, my Man Cave will have shelves of comic books, statuettes, Washington Nationals bobbleheads—I've got my Anthony Rendon bobblehead shown below in our A016 tabletop case. And, yes, I do have an Anthony “Tony Two-Bags” Rendon jersey that I wear to games—galore, and various other mementos from my life (my daughter calls them relics). Plus, I have the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch shown in our A005 clear case with gold risers.

And then there is the whole separate room of the house painted Chicago Maroon and Burnt Orange as both my wife and I went to Virginia Tech. That's right, I got a SECOND “Man Cave” because I married well. We call it the library because it has a bunch of bookshelves overflowing with reading material, but it is also full of Tech paraphernalia and keepsakes. I've even bought stuff for the room as a Christmas present for my wife. So I get stuff for the second Man Cave AND brownie points from the wife, the ultimate two-fer.

It's the one con I've successfully pulled off on my wife, giving me about a 1- 69 W-L record. It only worked because gals can be as a much of a sports geek as any guy. My son's girlfriend was shocked that my wife was cussing like a sailor during a Tech game on TV as my wife almost never swears (but she was in the Navy).

I, personally, am revamping my Man Cave as a pipe burst in the basement last winter and flooded what I called my office. I am in the process of converting it into a real Man Cave, bit by bit. And I'm going to look to you, our customers, for some suggestions. First up is how to display this statuette.
